This policy explains purchases, subscription cancellation, refunds and package changes for Jesters’ Box.
Purchases and Renewals
Local Free is local-only and has no subscription charge. Where paid cloud plans are offered, Paddle is the merchant of record and reseller. The seller is the Paddle entity identified at checkout and on your receipt. The checkout displays the package, price, currency, billing interval, taxes, and renewal terms before you confirm. Monthly subscriptions renew automatically until canceled.
Price changes
For a change to an existing subscription price, we will give at least 30 days’ advance notice by email, or longer where required by law, stating the new price and effective renewal date. The change will not increase the price of an already paid period. You can cancel before the new price takes effect. Any required consent will be obtained through the applicable purchase process.
Canceling
Open Settings → Billing to manage your subscription through Paddle’s customer portal. You can also use the links in your Paddle receipt or contact Paddle buyer support. Check the confirmed cancellation and effective date. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid period and stops future renewals; it does not automatically refund an earlier payment. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
When the paid subscription ends, the workspace owner has a 30-day recovery window to download/export and clean up cloud content; new uploads are disabled. Export and verify your local copies before that deadline. Local Free does not include cloud storage, and files are not automatically moved to your device. The recovery deadline is an access deadline, not a promise that all stored copies are erased that day. Deletion and backup handling are described in the Data Retention and Deletion Policy.
Refund Policy
Refunds for purchases processed by Paddle are governed by the Paddle Refund Policy and Paddle Buyer Terms. The policy version in effect when you make the transaction applies to that transaction.
Paddle’s policy sets out refund eligibility, country-specific withdrawal rights, product-defect remedies and discretionary refunds. A request within 14 days does not itself guarantee a discretionary refund. Mandatory consumer rights and any additional contractual rights remain unaffected.
If an unresolved subprocessor objection results in termination under the Data Processing Addendum, unused prepaid fees for the affected terminated service are refundable through the applicable payment channel.
Requesting a Refund
Use your Paddle receipt or Paddle buyer support. Include the transaction ID, purchase date, workspace name, and reason. Do not send card numbers, security codes, or passwords. For product assistance, contact support@jestersbox.com.
Paddle handles approved refunds under the payment-method and processing-time provisions in its Refund Policy. Bank arrival times may vary.
Subscription cancellation is confirmed separately from a refund. A refund ends access to the refunded paid service under Paddle’s policy. When the paid subscription ends, the export/recovery window described above applies. A partial billing adjustment does not remove unrelated paid capacity.
Package Changes
The owner can request package changes in Settings → Billing → Change package. Increases are presented with a price/proration preview before confirmation. A reduction in storage or seats takes effect on the confirmed next billing date; the current package continues until then. A routine downgrade does not refund the current period or create unused-time credit.
Before scheduling a reduction, the workspace must fit the selected storage and seat limits. The owner counts as a seat, and pending invitations and reserved upload capacity count toward the checks. You choose what to remove; a downgrade does not automatically delete files or remove members. If later activity puts the workspace over its new limits when the reduction takes effect, the lower price applies and the workspace becomes read-only until it fits, with browsing, download/export, and owner cleanup available.
A pending downgrade can be undone before its effective date, subject to Paddle’s billing cutoff. Changes within 30 minutes of renewal are refused; retry after renewal. An overdue payment or pending cancellation may need to be resolved first. A change that lowers one capacity and raises another takes effect together on the confirmed future date.
Consumer Rights
This policy does not limit mandatory withdrawal, refund, conformity, or other consumer rights. Any legally required request for early performance or withdrawal acknowledgment must be presented separately in the applicable checkout; accepting this policy alone does not waive those rights.
The Paddle Buyer Terms and Paddle Refund Policy also apply to purchases processed by Paddle.
