Version: 2026-10-12
Effective date: 2026-10-12
These Terms govern Jesters’ Box desktop software, accounts, cloud workspace features and related services. The software-license provisions apply to the installed desktop app, including local use without an account. Account and subscription requirements apply when you use those features. If you do not agree to the applicable Terms, do not install or use the relevant Services.

Services
Jesters' Box is a creative vault for game assets. Current features include local desktop workspace organization, asset import, previews, metadata, notes, tags, version snapshots, dependency links, Trash recovery, backups, and optional accounts and cloud workspaces with remote asset storage, versions, Trash, member invitations, and role-based access.
Availability and limits depend on the plan shown in the app. Public sharing, review workflows, engine plugins, SSO, audit-log products, and service-level commitments are included only if expressly offered in your plan or written agreement.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into these Terms to create or use a Jesters’ Box account or purchase a subscription. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 18 years old. Accounts are not offered to minors, including through parental permission. If you act for an organization, you must also have authority to accept these Terms for it.
We offer the Services internationally where available and lawful. Paid purchases depend on Paddle’s supported countries, payment methods and checkout eligibility. Availability may differ by location. You must not use the Services in violation of applicable export controls or sanctions. Mandatory rights in your country remain unaffected by these Terms.
Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for activity under your account. You must provide accurate account information and keep it current.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, create security risk, infringe third-party rights, or are used unlawfully.
Local Workspaces
A device workspace stores data on your device or in a location you configure. You are responsible for your own local files, backups, device security, and legal right to store and process the assets you import.
Uninstalling the app may not automatically delete all local workspace files, databases, thumbnails, backups, or exported packages. Use app deletion, operating system deletion, and backup deletion tools as needed.
The app can store asset files, thumbnails, metadata, notes, tags, snapshots, relationships, settings, and Trash items locally in the app data root or a path you configure.
Cloud Workspaces
If cloud workspace features are enabled, we may process account details, workspace records, metadata, files, support information, and operational logs needed to provide those features. The Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum describe those processing activities.
You retain your rights in User Content, including any third-party rights applicable to assets you use under license. You grant us a limited license to host, copy, process, generate previews and other service-related representations of, transmit, display, and back up User Content only as needed to provide, secure, and support the Services, comply with law, and enforce these Terms. This license does not transfer ownership of your content.
Workspace owners manage membership and access. Members must follow their organization’s instructions and understand that authorized members can access workspace content according to their roles. Before offboarding or deleting an account, owners must transfer or delete workspaces they own. Downloaded copies held by members are not erased by revoking cloud access.
Confidential content
We will treat non-public customer assets and other information reasonably understood to be confidential as confidential, whether or not they contain personal data. We will use that information only for the purposes permitted by these Terms, restrict disclosure to people and service providers who need it for those purposes and are bound to protect it, and use reasonable care to prevent unauthorized disclosure.
This obligation does not cover information that lawfully becomes public without our breach, was already lawfully known to us, is received lawfully without a confidentiality duty, or is independently developed without using the confidential information. We may disclose information when legally required and, where permitted, will notify you so you can seek protection. Retained copies remain protected for as long as we hold them. These obligations survive termination.
The content license does not authorize advertising use, public display without your instruction, or use of User Content to train general-purpose AI models. Any additional use would require a separate lawful basis and agreement where required. Voluntarily supplied product feedback does not give us ownership of the assets included with it.
User Content
"User Content" means assets, files and other material you upload, import, create, organize or submit through the Services, together with associated workspace information and service-generated representations of that material. It includes original files; previews and thumbnails; audio waveforms and asset-analysis results, such as model statistics; filenames, folder and collection names, tags, notes, comments, version labels and workspace names; dependency links and other asset relationships; and associated metadata. It also includes versions, snapshots, copies, cached representations, exports and backups of that material, whether stored locally or through cloud features. These examples apply where the relevant feature is available and do not mean that local-only material is uploaded to us.
The same limited-use and confidentiality protections apply to these representations and copies as to the underlying material. Generating them does not transfer your rights to us or grant us additional rights to use the underlying material. User Content does not include our software or service technology, or account, billing and operational records merely because they relate to your use of the Services; those records are addressed separately in the Privacy Notice.
You represent that you have all rights needed to use User Content with the Services. You must not use the Services to process illegal content, infringing content, malware, credentials you are not authorized to store, or content that violates the Acceptable Use Policy.
Intellectual Property
We and our licensors own the Services, software, design, code, trademarks, documentation, and related intellectual property. Except for the rights expressly granted in these Terms, no rights are transferred to you.
You may submit feedback. You grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use feedback without obligation to you.
Third-Party Services
The Services may depend on third-party providers such as cloud hosting, authentication, email delivery, payment processors, analytics, support tooling, or app distribution platforms. Third-party terms and privacy policies may apply.
Cloud infrastructure and processing authorization
By accepting these Terms and using cloud workspace features, you authorize us to engage Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Cloudflare through Jesters' Box's own provider accounts to host, store, transmit, secure and otherwise process your content as necessary to provide those features. Their roles and processing locations are described in Providers & Subprocessors. Our Data Processing Addendum forms part of these Terms where we process personal data on your behalf.
For that covered processing, you authorize us to enter into and administer the necessary provider service agreements, data processing addenda and applicable data-transfer arrangements in our own name to carry out your documented instructions. These include the Cloudflare Data Processing Addendum and the AWS Data Processing Addendum incorporated into the AWS Service Terms, to the extent applicable to the services we use. This authorization is limited to providing, securing and supporting your cloud workspace services and remains subject to our DPA, including its subprocessor notice and objection provisions.
If you act as a processor for another controller, you confirm that you have that controller's authorization for these appointments and instructions. This clause does not make you an AWS or Cloudflare account holder, require you to accept their entire customer agreements as a direct customer, or authorize us to sign a separate agreement in your name. Any arrangement requiring your own signature or separate express authority will be handled separately. This authorization does not replace a required legal basis, data-transfer safeguard or statutory formality, or reduce our obligations to you under these Terms and our DPA.
Service availability and support
If we discontinue a paid service, we will notify affected customers, explain available export options and access deadlines, and handle unused paid service under applicable law and the Refund and Cancellation Policy. Support channels and supported platforms are those published for your release; no response-time or uptime guarantee applies unless agreed in writing.
Fees and Taxes
Local Free provides device workspaces without a cloud subscription. Where paid checkout is available, Paddle acts as merchant of record and reseller for the transaction, including payment collection and applicable transaction taxes. The Paddle entity identified at checkout and on your receipt is the seller of that transaction. Paddle Buyer Terms apply to the purchase; these Terms govern use of Jesters’ Box.
The checkout shows the recurring price, currency, billing interval, applicable taxes, and package limits before confirmation. Subscriptions renew until canceled. Manage cancellation, invoices, and payment details through Settings → Billing and the Paddle customer portal or Paddle buyer support. Cancellation stops future renewals and normally leaves the current paid period available.
Our Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how Paddle’s Refund Policy applies, package changes, and the 30-day owner export/recovery window after the paid subscription ends. Cancellation is not a refund request or a request to delete your account. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
For a change to an existing subscription price, we will give at least 30 days’ advance notice by email, or longer where required by law, stating the new price and effective renewal date. The change will not increase the price of an already paid period. You can cancel before the new price takes effect. Any required consent will be obtained through the applicable purchase process.
Privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Notice, including its Türkiye/KVKK, retention and cookie sections.
Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. You may request account deletion through support@jestersbox.com or any in-product deletion flow we provide.
We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, fail to pay fees, create security risk, infringe third-party rights, or use the Services unlawfully.
We will give notice and a reasonable opportunity to resolve a remediable issue where appropriate. We may act immediately where necessary to address unlawful activity, security risks, harm to others or a legal requirement. You may contact support@jestersbox.com to ask us to review a restriction. Export access may be limited where necessary for those reasons; any lawful data-return or privacy request remains subject to the applicable rules.
Ending or canceling a cloud subscription does not by itself end your right to use Local Free. It does not automatically transfer cloud files to your device.
Sections that by nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, dispute terms, and confidentiality.
The desktop software license ends if you breach its terms. On termination of that license, stop using the app and uninstall it. Local workspace data may remain on your device unless you delete it.
Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with every file type, or able to recover every deleted or corrupted file.
You are responsible for backups of important production assets.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, lost goodwill, or business interruption.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the Services is limited to the greater of USD 100 (or its equivalent in the currency of payment) or the fees you paid for the affected Services during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Fees collected through Paddle for those Services count toward this amount.
These exclusions and limitations do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. They do not limit your mandatory consumer rights. Where a jurisdiction restricts an exclusion or limitation, it applies only to the extent permitted there.
Indemnity
If you use the Services on behalf of a business, to the extent permitted by law, you will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims and reasonable resulting costs arising from your unlawful User Content, material breach of these Terms or infringement of third-party rights. This does not cover a claim to the extent caused by our own breach or wrongful conduct. We will give prompt notice, provide reasonable cooperation at your expense and allow you to control the defense with suitable counsel. Neither party may settle a claim in a way that admits fault or imposes obligations on the other without its consent, which must not be unreasonably withheld. This business indemnity does not apply to consumers.
Changes
We may update these Terms. If changes are material, we will provide notice by email, in-product notice, or another reasonable method. The notice will state the effective date and any action required. Where law requires affirmative acceptance, we will obtain it. Changes do not remove accrued consumer rights or retroactively alter completed purchases.
General provisions
If a provision is unenforceable, the rest of these Terms continues to apply to the extent lawful. Not enforcing a provision immediately does not waive the right to enforce it later. We may transfer the agreement as part of a business transfer if your rights and applicable protections are preserved. You may not transfer your contractual rights or account to another person without our agreement; this does not restrict lawful transfers of your own assets.
These Terms and the documents they incorporate govern the Services, subject to any separate written agreement expressly varying them. The DPA controls covered personal-data processing, third-party licenses control their components, and Paddle's buyer terms govern its role as seller. Mandatory rights prevail over conflicting terms. Notices may be sent to your account or designated contact address; keep it current.
Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections available under the law of your country of habitual residence.
For business disputes where a jurisdiction agreement is legally permitted, the courts and enforcement offices of İstanbul, Türkiye have exclusive jurisdiction. Consumers retain access to competent courts, consumer arbitration bodies and other mandatory remedies available under applicable law, including in the EU, Türkiye and the US.
Paddle purchase disputes are also subject to the applicable Paddle Buyer Terms and mandatory law. This section governs disputes concerning our Services and does not replace the terms governing Paddle’s role as seller.
